Have you PM'd John to check this in his FSM's? If you're still lacking, I'll see what my 93 FSM says this afternoon/evening.

Actually.....I don't think my 93 FSM's will help you. IIRC, the PCM plugs and pin locations differ between 92 and 93. I'll try to dig up a better description....but you may want to simply ignore the plug's wire colors and go by the PIN location guide I posted here for you.

Thats only unique to the e-prom. The actual pcm, and pins outs are the same.

Changing the filters (removing the old ones) is a VERY tricky proposition. I've done it, and it took quite a bit of practice under the eyes of a pro. Get your o-rings from NAPA, but take your injectors to a pro for filters and pintle caps.

You get my PM about your burn list?

Yeah I got it Thanks for looking that over....hopefully the chip will go out this week. I am hoping to get the fuel system completely done this weekend then start getting some more of the wiring done, about halfway done now. That way once the chip comes back I can hopefully fire her up.....after I change out all the fluids of course.

My advice on the injectors is to soak them in WD-40 starting now and ending when you are ready to install. Shake 'em out upside-down before then. Pintle caps aren't required, and o-rings are easy to get. If you have problems, we'll address them afterwards.

Swirl 'em around in the can several times to get that stuff in there. It displaces water (WD stands for water displacing, it's not a lube), and will break up any deposits.

If you fail to remove a filter on the first try, the injector is scrap. It's a real trick. I can do them here, but it's not with the gas!

Caps ARE required. They are there for two reasons...the first reason is under vacuumm (or however you spell it) the rings will tend to creep down and cause a vac leak. The second reason...if you pull an injector out that has no pintle cap, the o-ring will stay in the manifold and *potentially* fall into it.

Don't ask me how I know :banghead:

The filters are very tricky to get out like Bill said. I've done it using a jewelers flatblade and CAREFULLY prying around the perimeter. I think I may still have some extra pintle caps.

(Egg timer goes off in my head)

Wait...what injectors are you using again? Are they the Bosch fat-bodies with the plastic pintle caps? If that's what they are I will send you what I have for pintle caps (I might have some filters too, I'll have to look). I won't be needing them, even with the LT1 build. I'll be using EV6 injectors.

Brad, I'm not trying to start an argument, but the pintle cap advice comes from the best in the business I've ever seen. FIE. I'm not running them on either car, and I've had no issues. If your o-rings are properly lubed when you do the install, there is no risk, and even if you dropped one into the manifold, it's not going to last any longer than a piece of paper.

Filters are far easier to remove with a tap than prying, and you don't run the risk of marring or scratching any surfaces. It's a no-contact removal.

I wasn't either. I'll rephrase...they may not be a necessity, but they are an assurance :beerchug:

Just want to make sure people don't think I'm talkin' outta my arse here......

I've spent many hours working on injectors with FIE, a good portion of those injectors are running in member's cars, including my own. For Taylor's sake, I'd do what it takes to get it running for now. If you have caps to send him, then go for it. In the meantime, I'd like to see him soaking those suckers and swirling them around from time to time. Best place to put them is on the washing machine or dryer.....in a way that the can won't fall off. Or with a lid on it in the trunk of the other car.

I have 12 injectors I am sure 6 of them have good pintle caps, i was just thinking of rebuilding them for re-assurance, I will pick the best 6 and soak em in wd-40 . I have rebuilt many tbi injectors but they are way different. Does it matter what fuel filter I use? I am assuming i should just use the one stock to the 91 but figured i would double check. So the list for this weekend is : Injectors, Fuel pump, Fuel filter, Fpr, and if I have time figure out why the rear driver side door wont unlock or open.. :beerchug: :beerchug:
