I'm having a heck of a time finding a part to complete the installation of my new struts. The car is a '96 LSS with the F41 suspension and rear level control. I bought new sensatracs and strut mounts based upon some recommendations here. When I disassembled one of the front struts, the strut bumper came out in little pieces. This is the rubber bushing that is attached to the spring retainer plate below the strut bearing. This bushing is also used to hold the bellow in place at the top of the strut rod. Autozone, Advance Auto, and NAPA have all tried to sell me the wrong part. GM Parts Direct has what I think is the right part listed as P/N 25656136, but it's $40.87 and non-returnable. Their drawing isn't the greatest, but I think that this is the right part. I called a local Chevy dealer and this is also the part that he came up with, but it was at the list price of $57.46!!!. Hard to believe what they charge for this thing!
Anyone else run into this? Just want to make sure that I get the right part.
Thanks,
Jim

Re: Front Strut Bumper
Could you take the GM part number to the other three part places to see if they could cross reference it or to show them the exact part you need to see if they have it. Just a thought.
