Cold air intake

Post by DR.Camaro »

Hey I am looking for a cold air intake (love hearing the supercharger whine lol). I looked at ZZP nothing for a 1998 Bonneville SSEi
Thanks

No one makes one for us. Options are custom built. There is ZZP's or Intense's, can't remember which, flexible intake hose with a cone filter on the end. I think it is listed as part of a fender well intake kit for Grand Prixs. Or fitting a pipe from some other kit or a universal pipe kit. Me, I did the "rice pipe" , named such because it was intended for a Honda, and made a heat shield with the foil sided bubble wrap stuff. It's not super pretty but it is effective at getting cool ambient air.

Rice pipe thread. It's old so the pics have gone away, probably due to Photobucket going paid only:

Lol, yeah.

I'm going to need more detail on the intake you found on eBay. There are probably a few.

Anything on ebay will be a HOT air intake, all junk.

ZZP doesn't make anything for your 98 SSEi, but INTENSE-Racing does. INTENSE Fender Well Intake (FWI) is always the best option https://intense-racing.com/Merchant2/me ... _Induction

It's probably the best looking option unless you pay for some custom box to be fabricated.

I use a somewhat ugly rice pipe with heat shield wrap.

If you're just trying to hear the sound, toss a filter on there and don't worry about it too much. The supercharger transforms all incoming air into magma anyways. Lol
