I have a 96 bonneville sse and my question is can you fit a v8 from whenever in this car? Lt1? 5.3L? What could fit with minimal trimming?

Best bet would be a LS4 from a Grand Prix GXP. It's got the same basic trans you do and was shortened a bit to fit in the w body.

Good point. I think you could also get it in a first generation Buick Lacrosse.
