Its not really the blue light affect I'm just going for I just want (need now since bulb went out) brighter bulbs then the stock ones.

So if those bulbs you got off ebay will be better then I'll get those, but do I need the HID kit?

Does anyone know what type of bulb is in the Foglights on a 94?
Also what is in the trunk, (courtesy bulb).

foglights 92-05 are 880 bulbs, I'm not sure what the trunk bulbs are...

did no one read my other post? a picture of bulbs tells you NOTHING. the camera automatically exposes to get the image to a certain brightness. all bulbs will look more or less the same

True for most digital cameras. I don't think that is true if you manually set your own exposure though. The pic will probably look like *shoot* since it will be under or over exposed though.

in that case, you would need pictures taken with manual settings (set exactly the same) of both types of bulbs in the same location, with the camera at the same height, etc.

I did the light change(was one of the first to do this) 4 years ago and the difference in(light) output is about 70% (1700 lumens vs 1000 lumens). Not a single car has flashed there lights at me in 4 years. Just make sure your light's are adjusted right and be sure the new bulbs are in all the way. I would never go back to the stock(9006) bulb, EVER.
You have two different lens, one for the high beam and one for the low beam. Park your car 15 to 20 feet from a wall and have your lights on low, you will see that the beam of light will not be very high(2 to 3 feet) then turn the high beams on and the light will be higher on the wall and it will shine farther down the road. There is a cut off on the low beam lens so the light will not blind oncoming traffic. The down side of that is that the light will not light up the road very far in front of your car. That is why when you put the brighter light's on your low side it lights up the road better than the stock bulb but it WON'T light up the road as good as your high beam's will. I put a cheap($8) set of GE 9005 lights in the low beam side and they were a lot brighter than the 9006 Silverstar's that I had in the car at the time. Just modify the light's(2 of them) like the post i put up.

I would put the SilverStar Ultra bulbs in the HIGH side and put an standard high beam bulb(9005) in the low side. I did this because I don't like to be driving on a mountain road at night and have a light burn out, the lights that are in my car(low beam side) are 4 years old and still put out good light.

Any bulb with a blue tint isn't as bright as it should be. Coloring may be too high on color temp as well causing excessive glaring on wet/snowy roads, etc. Anyone claiming HID look/performance is seriously out of their mind with halogen lighting systems. Real HID lighting systems are pure white light, not blue. If they appear blue when driving around, you're seeing the cutoff then.

SS aren't worlds better like some ppl make them out to be vs another NEW high quality bulb. You'll see a difference if your current bulbs are older, or have lots of use on them, and are pretty worn. I had some Philips bulbs in my car, and was very happy with them. Never had one blow in 2 years.

Thats what I did, I wanted a light that would last a long time and still give me 70% more light than the stock(9006) bulbs. Put the SilverStar Ultra bulbs(9005) in the high beam side because you probable don't use the high beam lights for a long sustained time, so hopefully they won't burn out so quick.

Silverstar update......Just lost one tonight. It didn't quite make it the year. I'm pissed again. The light output is great, but if I have to keep replacing these in less than a year, they're not worth it.
