Gen V SC - Price?

Post by 731Loadmaster »

How much should I be spending for a Gen V SC in good condition? I think I have found one close by and would like to know what to look for in a price and any tell tale signs of problem areas.
Can someone also tell me the total cost of a Gen V swap out? I have a little to put into the car and dont want to go overboard on a mod.

You'll need the LIM with it, around $250 dollars is fair for a Gen V with its LIM. Could go up or down depending on who you're dealing with. You'll also need a throttle body adapter to attach your drive by cable throttle body to the Gen V.

so far $240 OBO w/o LIM is the sellers price. Can I make one from mine or is it easier to purchase. what would be a good offer? $200?

You would have to purchase the LIM, I don't think its possible to make yours work. $240 sounds like a pretty fair price for something like that.

You can make the Gen III LIM work but it requires dremeling to open up the mouth. Much easier to just find a Gen V LIM. If you go on grandprixforums, they pop up all the time. I've seen one for 250 with the LIM a week or two back.

240 isn't a good deal for just the blower. Maybe Harofreak00 has a Gen V? Couldn't hurt to ask.

This thread should help considerably. Mind you, it is from 2011, so some prices may be a little out of date.

Payed $350 for my Gen V W/O the intake.. you can cut the outlet of the Gen III intake to match. I bought a new OEM one for like $150.. you can find them for like 90-100 on ebay.
