Hello, I owned a 1992 SE for 15 years, got over 200K from it. Always wanted an SSEI.
Well I found a 1998 SSEI, less than 80K miles, looks good on CARFAX (1 owner)
However, over the years there are many service calls documented on the CARFAX listed as "Electrical System Checked" Sometimes these are only a few months apart.
Any advice for what to check into on the 1998 SSEI?
Thanks

Not sure... But there are Ground Bus Bars on both sides of the car, if these are corroded in any way it can cause a handful of electrical issues.. Not sure what " Electrical System Checked " points to..
Does any of the paperwork state " Customer complaint .... "

Thanks.. I saw similar advice about the Ground Bus bars on other web forum posts about the 98 SSEI. No explicit indication of "Customer complaint", but it happened 5 times in service records from 2002-2006. At one point is lists: "Left tail light assembly replaced." Then in 2006 its seems to have stopped.
In any case, I am all in and will be picking this up in a week, finally have a 92-99 SSEI, a Toy I have long wanted ! Great to have a forum like this to provide some support.. Thanks again!

I was able to find the original one owner for this. Seems the "electrical" checks were for an after-market On-Star system. Once they disconnected the On-Star, all is good.
Having Owned a 92 SE back in 92, now having fun riding in this cream puff, One Owner SSEI !
