What was your favorite Bonneville, year and trim level?

Post by 1oldman »

Mine is/are:
Rear Wheel Drive: 1965/1966 Bonneville 2/4 door hard top
Front Wheel Drive:: 1988 SSE
I like both so much I'm unable to decide which one, RWD or FWD. FWD has won me over on ease of repairs and dependability as I am not a FWD fan.
I was unable to select just one. - BC

I don't know the older style very well. That being said for me it's a tough call between 1993 SSEi and 2003 SSEi

Fan of any of the 65+ RWD versions (have a fellow full-size stablemate in a '66 Catalina), and of course, the 87 SE (the first of the FWD gen), warmed my heart. It only got better with later SSE versions.

The 93-94 SSEi's are definitely my favorite, but I love me a clean '88 SSE.

89-91SSE or 92-95 SSEi.

But here is the problem, any one of them is a compromise. 89-91, the LN3. 92-95, Series 1, and OBD 1.5.

Ideally, I think a 91SSE with Series 2 L67 swap, and AL7's swapped in would absolutely be my undoing.

My favorite would be a fully optioned 92 SE. Any full optioned 93-95 SE/SLE works for me too.

I would have to say the 96-99 SSEi is probably my favorite, or a 04-05 with the SLE/GXP trim.

For some reason, I have an affinity with the more square bodied cars of the 80's so the 1987-91 Bonneville's are my choice. Definitely feeling the L67 swap with AL7's :beerchug:

I guess I'll have to pick this 66 Bonneville Wagon that I saw at a car show once and it was fully loaded. This was the color. It also has the 8 lug wheels and a third row seat. Then my 88 SSEi for the pure comfort of the seats and nice styling. And that is tied with my 2004 GXP that I am driving now.

My favourite is the '92 to '95 SSEi, so I'm really happy with what I've got.

Out of the older cars my preference is for the '79.

I'd love a 91 (my birth year) SSE, again, L67 swap, all the trimmings.

Any of them really. But the 89 LE and 01 SSEi have a special place in my heart, always wanted a 88-91 SSE...

I grew up around the 88-91 SSE, but favourite has to be the first car I bought with my own money: the 92-95 SSEi. Red or White, please!

Definitely 95 for me and graphite interior for sure. But it's a tough call between black or that garnet red paint... And tough between the SLE package or the SSE trim.

My pick 2 would be black on black SLE and garnet red on black SSE. N/a former, turbo latter.
