bad injector, what other cars have same injectors as 93 ssei

Post by focusmaniaczx3 »

i have a bad injector due to my own idiocy.... they were badly clogged and in need of cleaning and i dropped one on a concrete floor and broke it. now i need to replace it but they are crazy expensive at every part store i called. what other cars have the same type and lb/hr injector as the ssei bonneville that i can rob one from in the junk yard? ive never come across an injector so gummed up that i couldnt clean it.

on another note, picked up a "rebuild" kit (o rings and tips for all injectors) that comes with teeny tiny filters that apparently go in the injectors. how does that work? ive never done that bit of awesome before.
the focus was my first car so obviously it has become my money pit and 580whp play toy.
i bought a kia soul to "grow up" and have something that is practical with a back seat and gets good mileage.
my wife brought the ssei bonneville into the mix to piss me off because it does everything the kia does better.
i then bought another ssei bonneville

Look up the injector on O'rilleys website, it should list every car it goes to.

it lists 24lb/hr and 30lb/hr injectors. i cant help but be a bit skeptical about their compatibility list. its a good place to start thought. thanks for the idea. i would have thought the supercharged cars would have bigger injectors which upon further investigation according to their site shows the N/A 3800 runs 24lb and the superchaged 3800 runs the 30lb but their compatibility list shows the exact same cars between the two so it doesnt help me much. dont think it would do me alot of good to starve one of 6 cylinders of fuel unless all 3800 motors regardless of being n/a or boosted run 24lb injectors. so until i narrow it down more somehow im still at a loss. if i go by that list i might get a 24lb or 30lb injector.

Stock L67 injectors are 30, IIRC. I once tried Accell 27 pound injectors after having been given info that they were all 24 lb. And it went real lean. So I went back to the stock injectors what were refurbed and matched.

i really hope you're right. snagged a 30lb injector and will be running it. it will either run right or run rich

Cleaning your own injectors? Really? [-X

That is one of the things to let the Pro with the proper equipment do!

I have ALWAYS been happy with the work from this guy: http://www.witchhunter.com/ =D>

Included in the testing and redo are those little parts that you asked about, already installed! (how much did you pay for the kits, anyway?)

The big advantage over DIY is that you know for certain that they are matched, and all work to spec.

Having a second go-around with poor performance from my SSE. Injector cleaning for that motor might come soon. To fix a slight oil leak, I will probably do the intake gaskets at the same time...
