car gets squirrely over bumps.

Post by mrrcom »

Seems like everytime i go over a manhole cover, railroad tracks, and general crappy roads the car gets really crazy from left to right... even driving home from work theres this stretch of crappy road and it was so bad that a "trac off"...cant remember if that it forsure... light went off in the dash. It straightens itself out but like in my truck or my cutlass these bumps make the car go up and down but this bonne gos side to side lol

When i was putting everything back together i goofed up on the fronts camber so i took it to a place and they did a front and back alignment. Id imagine theyd tell me if they saw anything broke...

Any ideas guys? Or do these cars run like this?

If you are referring to your 2000 SSEi -get new rear shocks.
2000+ Bonneville/Lesabre/Park Avenue's need new rear shocks every 70-80k miles, or so it seems.

There are a couple reasons why the 00+ rear shocks are nice compared to the 99-older rear struts:
1. 00+ Rear shocks can be bought new online with shipping included for under $100.
2. 00+ Rear shocks are a piece of cake to change -even an amateur can change them in under an hour and no special tools needed.
