What to do first?
I'll be getting a silver 2005 Bonneville GXP Saturday, a CAI kit is already planned to be the first power (and mpg) adder. Not too familiar with the Northstar V8. What should I do after the CAI kit? I've been in a 2006 GTO for 6 years, and am quite familiar with the LS motor. Any guidance in helping make about 40-50 horsepower more would be appreciated.

Honestly, there is no EASY way to make power out of the N*. You pretty much have to leave it as you find it. You might get 5 horsepower from the intake, and there's a tune out there that gives you 10, but it is bloody expensive.

Intake and exhaust will mainly just be for your auditory pleasure.

Thanks for the info guys. Since there's not much I can do to pump up the power, I'm not going to get it. 275 horses is kinda weak. I'll stick with my 500 HP GTO.

Re: What to do first?
Compared to the GTO it might seem anemic. But drive a 3.8 power L27 or L36 then tell see how the Northstar feels. It's no 500 HP but its got more than enough to get you into trouble and that Northstar is a screamer.

The GXP is a good daily if all the maintenance is up to par, but that's about it. It's from a bygone era.

And get better gas mileage. I installed SLP's CAI on my 2000 GP GTP, and picked up 4 mpg! And talk about throttle response! And you could really hear the blower whine! Didn't feel as big of a difference on my GTO.

Ok. I'm getting the GXP next weekend. Anybody know where I can get GXP floor mats? The dealer has their floor mats with the dealer name on them in the car. I sure don't want them in it. I see a few companies have NFL team floor mats. If I can't find the GXP mats, that's an option.

GXP floor mats would have to be custom made.

OEM GXP floormats were plain, same color as the carpet. Lloyd's will make you whatever you want, for a price.
