It's very nice to see this. I'm happy to see the 3800 made the list.

I'm a very hard sell on the ecoboost. Give it ten years of hard use, mileage, and it's repair record and we'll talk. Right now, it's just too early to tell.

What about all the VTEC lovers though. They must be having meltdowns that two "low tech" engines are on the list... I'm mean, after all, the LS is a low tech pushrod engine, right?

Re: Jalopnik giving credit to the L36
I see nothing wrong with the 2 low tech GM engine examples. They have provided plenty of power and reliable years.
I stopped reading comments on those articles long ago because you always get a bunch of people that have no idea what they are talking about. The best one I remember was an article that mentioned the 2000+ Bonnevilles, and one guy swore that the "i" in SSEi stood for intercooled. He knew because he owned one. Could not stop laughing at that one.

Not only is Jalopnik giving credit to the L36, but it made Ward's 10-best Engines of the 20th Century list, AND it was on the yearly list of best engines for multiple years in a row.
The thing is a tank, it's taken everything I have ever thrown at it. It's been proven by almost everyone in our communities haha

I saw the title, and was hoping the Yamaha 3.0/3.2 from the Taurus SHO's would have made it in there.
The noise that engine made when the secondaries opened was magical, not even counting an indicated 7k rpm redline (fuel cutoff at 7500, to keep from blowing the accessories off of it)
Plus they could put up a respectable service life as well.
