Chances are the extra wires aren't there if the car didn't have the mirror upgrade from the factory. GM almost never included an inch of wiring they didn't absolutely have to.

You're correct. It appears so. I wasn't able to trace the wire on the junkyard car back to see where it goes. The unused wire in my car's power mirror wiring harness is a ground. Do the two mirror defrost power wires (one on each side) run from the mirror directly to the back of the ECC? Not sure with the ecc but on my with the standard climate control its wired in a relay under the dash.

Same pin as the rear defrost but through a 10A fuse.
