I have a spare set of head lights (cracked and chipped), that I am working on a how-to for fixing siezed adjuster screws.

I've noticed that the 9007 dual filament are axial, just like the 9006 low beam. The difference is the low beam is off-center from the axis.

The theory is that I can use the 9007 dual filament, positioned so that the low beam matches the housings optics with the high beam clocked to increase my high-beam light output (similar to the quad highs that were on the LeSabre). With the high beam clocked, I can direct more light to the sides of the road.

I will be testing this in the spare headlight assemblies first, but was curious if anybody else had done something similar?

More questions...

How does the lamp monitor work? I want to install a relay harness on the SSEi, and something tells me I'll lose the function of the lamp monitor.

Yep, you'll lose that with a relay harness. IIRC there's some form of emulator or something for them, though...
