overheating problem

Post by jtbj06 »

I am having a problem with my '98 SE. I am overheating and loosing coolant from my cooling system. It appears to be overflowing from the overflow. I have not been able to detect any leaks in the radiator, have replaced the thermostat and all hoses. I do not loose alot of coolant over a weeks time but I have to keep a close check. Does anybody have any suggestions?

Where are you finding the coolant? Is it on the engine anywhere? Is more disappearing than you are finding? Pull your dipstick. Does your oil look like chocolate milk, instead of sparkly oil.

could be a water pump, or intake gaskets. check the oil as mentioned.

How many miles are on your engine? Have you ever replaced the LIM gaskets?

If you are sure it is coming from the overflow tube then the fix is simple. Replace your radiator cap. Don't hesitate to check your oil and look for more leaks.
