(Finally Updated!)My new Bonneville

Post by JG2000SE »

I've been lurking on the forum for some time and kept meaning to post but finally wanted to put up some updated pics...

Windows are now tinted 35% all around. Front license plate panel painted to match car was added late last year. Needed new tires so went with a good all season performance tire, Firestone Champion HR in original size. Painted the calipers not long ago and am happy with the result. I think my cat is clogged so a Magnaflow hi-flow is on the way now, goes in next week. She now has 90k miles but still a long way to go.

Most important, the rust around the gas cap was cut out with new sheet metal welded in and repainted with new rust-proofing. The rear bumper was sanded and shaped and repainted as well to fix the damage behind the passenger side rear tire. Always a work in progress but pics are below...

BTW, I tried auto-cross once and it was awesome. Held my own against another novice in a 2011 V6 Mustang with 5-speed. Next meet with Mid-Ohio Sports Car Club is Sunday, July 8 in Shelby for any members in the north central Ohio area....

Just picked it up 5/25. 2000 SE with 68k miles. My first Pontiac, love it so far. Some cosmetic repairs are needed and are scheduled to be fixed in approx. 1 month. She's all stock right now. I plan to tint the windows, put in a front license panel, would love some 18 inch GXP rims, and thats about it for now.

Kinda looks like someone Bondo'd around the gas door where it rusts, then painted over it. Not gonna hold up at all.

Other than that it looks to be in good shape. I hope she treats you well.

Picking her up from the body shop today after having quarter panel work done and repainting both bumpers and some small trouble areas. Also had the windows tinted about 2 weeks ago. I'll post pics soon....

Looks good!

For future reference, it's easier to just update with a new post, instead of editing the first post all the time. Keeps the progression and information much easier to follow.
