How long you had the car?

Check your oil at the moment. Low?

It could be a lot of things. In a past life the engine could have had a bad UIM or LIM gasket and gotten coolant into the oil, someone could have run it low on oil, could be a defective bearing, etc. If you ran it low on oil, that could have caused it. Unless you ran it @ WOT for a couple hundred miles, there isn't a whole lot you could've done while driving to do this. You could have starved it for oil.
Is a UIM or LIM gasket fixable without having to get a new engine? and How good are my chances that it is something EXTERNAL that wouldn't require me to find a new motor? Definitely did NOT run at full throttle lol

Only had it since end of July.. Oil change when it needed.. and im still about 2,000 miles from needing one again.. my car only has 67,000 miles on it.. Needs a quart but dad doesn't think it's low enough to damage the car..

00Beast was telling you WHY the engine failed. The UIM or LIM failure was probably the reason why the engine failed. The engine is definately done, there is no going back. This is an internal problem. You NEED a new engine.

No, from the sounds of it your engine is done. Time to get a new one.

If you absolutely want to confirm it is engine time, which it seems like you need to confirm this for yourself, you can pull the serpentine belt off, and then try and start it. If it still does not budge as it didn't before, you need an engine. You can even try cranking it by hand with the belt off, and it probably will not budge. Play with it as long as you need to, because no further damage can be done, aside from junking the harmonic balancer bolt by rounding it off <Just make sure you have the right size 6 point socket, and you should be okay>.

When you guys are done, you now need to decide what next. Do you:

A) Replace the engine with a decent used unit
B) Have the engine replaced with a decent used unit
C) Sell/Dump the car as is
D) Part it out

I'm pretty much at the only option of having it rebuilt or getting a new engine, since the bank technically "owns" my title.. What about lemon law? I've heard people tell me about this.. and since I've only had the car like 4 months, would this help me out?

This is not under the lemon law. It's your car, and as long as you are making payments on time, the bank can't make you do anything. Have a good, low mileage junkyard engine put in. www.car-part.com will help if you don't know any junkyards in your area. They're there, you just might not know about it.

Soo... my engine somehow started perfectly fine today... still a faint knock, but no more squealing..... Smells like oil. What the frick?? Should I try adding oil, since I'm low, and see if its just the piston rubbing from not being lubricated? Let me know guys!

First off, what brand oil and filter are you using? I would change the oil and put in a good quality oil and a high quality filter. Do NOT use Fram filters, period. The knock still tells me your engine is near dead. I would be looking for a new engine, and prepared for the worst.

could it just not be getting oil to one piston, and it is rubbing/knocking.. adding oil fix the problem?

Your engine is dead. Don't put another dollar into it. Even if it is still running, it won't for much longer.

Say a little prayer, and go hunt for a new engine. If it sounds that bad, it's toast. With a side of copper from the spun bearing.

If you have to throw money at it, Restore "may" help it limp another few hundred miles.

I'm going to have to disagree.... runs perfectly fine now, same power... only thing happening now is an infrequent "ticking" noise... i think its a valve sticking.. easy fix, and LOTS cheaper.

Well then, when your engine locks up, you know what to do. Until then, I guess you just think you're going to drive it like there's no problem. It's your car...

I'm getting it checked out next week... don't get your panties in a bunch... can't hurt the engine any more than it already is.......

It is obvious you are going to go off and do your own thing, however I would like to present some reminders of things that have come up so far.

You confirmed the noise you heard was exactly like a video I posted with a documented spun bearing. Not many other things could make the noise you identified and confirmed sounded like yours.
You stated the engine locked solid, and was not able to be turned over.
The engine is still making some noise, the same engine that has made noise like a spun bearing, and has locked solid once before.

With that information, it would be wise to deduce that the engine is now on borrowed time. You now can make preperations to get it taken care of on your terms, assuming it holds together. The only thing you may succeed in doing is buying more time, maybe even 'mechanic in a can' solutions may help too, but it doesn't change the likely outcome. Money spent on this engine will likely end up being money lost.
