SEBF '10 Drag day (NOV 5th)

Post by Marik_bathory »

Starting a new thread so as to not clutter up the main one.

Typicly SEBF falls on the same weekend as the "World Street Nationals" the largest doorslammer race in the world, this prohibits us from using the track for a proper track meet. this year, for whatever reason, SEBF has been pushed back a week, and the track is free and clear.

so i'm looking to see if enough people are interested to make a convoy to the track worthwhile.

the event would be held at Orlando Speedworld http://www.speedworlddragway.com/
we would probably have to leave around 4:30 to arrive and get through tech before the track itself opens at 6pm, (gates at 5pm) addmission is $10 per person. $5 additional for every car that is racing (IE one car one driver racing is $15, one car one driver one passenger $25, one car one person, not racing $10)

rules are standard NHRA rules, must have a valid DL and be 18+ to race or ride on the track. one passenger is allowed in the car on the track.

overpriced food and beverages are available site, as well as 106 octane race fuel. that'll kill that KR.

on a typical friday night i average 4-5 runs. my record is just under 20 runs. track closes at 10:30pm.

i would be happy to answer any questions you may have.

I need to know who is attending for sure and what type of vehicle you will be running. to make this more fun i will be ordering trophies for fastest E.T. and R.T. i will likely be splitting the E.T. class into N/A. and S.C. classes just to keep things more fair. Turbo or nitrous will run in the S.C. catagory. I may also include a prize for the fastest non-3800 car, for those of you stuck with rental cars and for you knuckleheads who insist on bringing your trucks...

i need your feedback to make this happen...

Both Karen and I are in. Tracy, if you want to run you can borrow whatever one isn't being used.

I'm a "maybe". Not sure if I wanna put the truck through all that, especially since I already know what my time would be with a good strip driver, which I am not lol. What I'd actually end up running would likely be embarrassing.

Aw thanks Brad! I generally don't like to run other ppl's cars though... just in case that "something" happens... I'd feel bad. But i may be coerced into a run...it's been known to happen.

Good chance the SS will run it. The SSE *might*, if I can get a good enough tune going on it.
