Why yes, we got them installed finally. The left was a pain, but the right was even worse. We ended up unbolting the motor mount and jacking up the right side of the motor. All that is left for tomorrow is attaching the y-pipe and connecting the exhaust.

I only let my kids in it! My son went with me this past Sunday to go do some more work on it. Those are the priceless moments. Even better when he goes back to Mommy and says "I helped work on Daddy's 'go fast car'". "I worked on the dwiveshaft!"
Be forewarned when that little guy turns 16 he won't forget the lessons you teach him about "going fast" and also about working his "dwiveshaft". :wink:

Matt, as we expected, that would have been a challenge to do in a short couple days at WCBF10 with all the other :beerchug: activities. I hope Jordan appreciates all your help. :beerchug:

I agree, that was a good call not to do it during the meet. I deeply appreciate Matt working with me on this project, I really owe him one for going through "project LT hell".

First drive report: this thing sounds mean! :headbang2: Sounds like those built up chevy's at the dragstrip. However there are two minor issues: it sounds like the exhaust pipe is banging on the subframe when I start moving in first gear, then goes away while going through the gears. Second; it idles kinda rough and is a bit sluggish feeling at low rpms. I'm not sure if thats just the nature of having long tube headers or if there is a vacuum leak/misfire issue.

It sure does accelerate hard at midrange to top end! It seems like 2nd gear only lasts 1 and a half seconds before I have to shift again. Look out Paul...

1st gear will torque that engine on it's mounts and probably twist until the pipe hits. You may have to stiffen or bend a bit more clearance between the pipe and subframe.

A little less low end torque is a consequence of long tube headers. They shine in mid to top end range.
You may have to richen up a bit more. Are you using colder plugs? What diameter are the primary tubes?

Garage is all better now. No lost tools either. I am feeling the pain today, got a pretty stiff neck from laying under the car looking up. I thought my back and arms would be worse from all the tugging and pulling.

The pink totes came from Bill, the rug was a free craigslsit item. It makes it a lot more comfy when working under the cars.

Update: my stock motor mounts are worn and are letting the headers bang against the subframe under acceleration, this is causing KR. And I found out that my check engine light is broke and the car is really throwing 4 codes #-o ! One for EGR and 3 for o2 sensors. I also have a dying A/C compressor, so this leads me to...

Part 2! I just ordered polyurethane motor and transmission mounts, and I also ordered 1 valve spring retainer so I can change out the last valve spring (lost 1 retainer during the job, "it" happens). While I'm replacing those, I'll change out the A/C compressor. With the compressor out of the way, I can get to the plug wires on the right bank and replace those as well. With the false knock gone I can get the car dyno tuned again. Two of those o2 sensors I am not running anymore, so I'll have those codes deleted. I'll try to sort out the other two codes as well.
Hell is located under my Camaro, and I'm going back in...

I don't know yet when they will arrive, but probably by the end of this week. If so I'll start this next weekend, in my driveway. I'm thinking of buying an extra car to drive while I'm doing the work, and to have as a winter car later this year.

Are you sure it's that they're broken? Mine did this with perfect motor mounts, simply form the torsional twist of the engine, especially at the friction point of the clutch. I simply installed a "torque strap" to keep the engine still.
