Does anyone out their own 92-99 pontiac bonneville if so does your car blow air out the vent like really hard like newer cars do?? Because the ones i been in and even my own does not blow out alot of air.

It could also be that the blower motor is getting tired, or that you may have a vacuum leak not allowing the selector to go fully to the vents.

hey thanks but no vacuum leaks all my setting work perfect but how can u tell if the fan going bad?

My Buick blows enough cold air to freeze me when it's on its highest setting. The evap core cleaning and topping off the R134a helped.

Already cleaned my evap core bough new resistor and had mechanic shop check for vacuum leaks.. could it be that i need a newer fan?

Check the level of charge in you AC system. I bet it's lost a bit since 1995, and needs to be topped off.

Also, you could snake the ducts for any odd pieces of foam or other foreign objects that impede airflow.

Is your blower working at all speeds and you feel air coming out? Does the air switch correctly between the dash, defrost and floor as selected on the controls?

yes all speed change. and all the setting works.. i can feel air out the vents just not enough as it should.. my taurus puts out much more air to cool me on a hot day

If you switch it to the floor setting and the fan blows decent, I would say the fan is fine. I'm having the same issue with my 92, Could it be a duct is off some place under dash , Fan could be filled with pine needles. Is there a way to bench test the fan without to much hassle . I'm not sure, I'm a newb here. I grew up tooling Mustangs. and a few Chevy's. I wonder if the flap that directs the air could be stuck.

When you have the air coming out the vents, feel with your hand to see how much is coming out the defroster. Then see how much is coming out the heater at the floor.

If there's more than a minor amount coming out there, check the diaphragm for the defroster closure. Push in with your finger to see if it's pulled all the way in by the vacuum. The diaphragm may have a leak. The movement of the arm may be sticking. The vacuum from the motor may be weak. The vacuum from the multi-connector on the corner of the programmer box may be partly closing giving a weak vacuum.

The blue line goes to the diaphragm that closes off the flow to the defroster and makes it come out the dash. And the double lined diaphragm closes to make much of the air go up to the defroster, however it is closed when there is no vacuum to it.

Thanks for your answer but when i have it on vent settings air does not leak to the defrost. U think the blue tube could be kinda loose on the programmer? Do you have a pic on how to get to the programmer because i can even find mine on my 96 lolz

My 92 was converted over to 134a before I got it... It blows cold and hard will run you out of the car... Beings we talking ac why is it I shut off the car with the ac still running it will blow hot like it switches to hot then back to cold BUT if I hit the off button then shut off the car it will be cold always after a restart??? I haven't cleaned anything either...

Hey Santonio03, You PM me and asked if I had the stock blower motor and the answer is No... I did have to replace it. It was shot though was sqealing like mad and shook the whole dash... We should keep all questions in the message board so all can read and soak up info... Gotta get posts too lol...

Yes cause the old one had no bearings left just dust and the brushes ate the contacts through... If you have any excessive noise from the motor or pull the lil rubber vent off the motor check for nasty motor gunk...

Shut the vent for the rear passengers. Run on Max, if still not cold enough then you have an "issue" elsewhere in the HVAC system.

aRE THE FITTINGS ON THE AC LINE UNDER the hood the aluminum lines are those fittings reverse thread or something I'm having a hell of a time getting the lower one off ,near the front of the car I have to swap it over to accept the new refer!!

Related, but different. My 92 blows hot and cold appropriately, and volume is acceptable. But, the two vents on the driver side blow cooler than the 2 on the passenger side. On heat, the left two are warm, right two are hot. On AC, the left two are as cold as you'd expect, left two are not so cold. Odd, some vent piece out of line behind the dash, but I can't find where. Any ideas?
