Cape Cod Blue 92 Bonneville

Post by 92Ville »

Hello folks ,
My name is Rick My wife and I scored a "92" Bonneville two years ago and the car just wont die,
It really truthfully was an Little old lady who owned it She had 42,000 When we got it . The poor old lady was baking out of the driveway when she bumped the mailbox & that was it she wanted the car gone .. it was too big she sat to low, Even when i showed up to buy it I showed her the seat could be adjusted higher she never knew that she moved the seat once in 1992 and that was all, I slapped on some new brakes a set of rims and wow what a car sweet ride smooth so much more room than my 92 GT 5.0 Where can i post some pictures of Blue? You can see the ding above the left rear tail light the poor old lady put in it . I hope it is ok to put photo's in this column. Thanks I need to fix that trim it was flapping in the breeze the other day

Up to you, I think they're kinda cool :P Photos of your Bonneville here are fine - but if you'd like to post more, you can take a peek at the Your Ride section: viewforum.php?f=9

That looks like a great score you've got there. Those rims are a good match!

I got lucky on the rims Sniper $300 bucks with tires. Handling is night and day I think the guy said they came off of a 2000 Grand Prix the guy was about to junk. Gotta love Craigs list!! Just wish it was supercharged. How do the supercharged Bonneville's hang with the 92 - 93 Mustang GT 5.0's The 50's come 225hp 235hp for the cobra, then factor in the gear ratio whats stock HP on the v6 SC babies? i bet they are able to keep up . Are they ?

Yep, those are Grand Prix wheels indeed.

I am fairly certain the supercharged SSEi can at the very least keep up with a stock 5.0 Mustang, I think it boils down to which car is in a better state of tune and which driver gets the better jump off the line. In brief sprint to 45mph I once did, we were practically neck and neck.

1992-1993 SSEi is 205hp/260lb-ft
1994-1995 SSEi is 225hp/275lb-ft

Any idea what they retail for each ? Just curious as to what they would cost new. Wish I knew someone that needed the stock ones I have!!

Did you do that video with the song
"Sheep got to heaven Dogs go to hell"?
With the pickup truck and the Bike?
If so great work love the pictures with the lighting
spectacular job with minimal equipment

42,000 miles is pretty young. Depending on the condition you'll get a hell of a lot outta that thing. Welcome to the club!

Thanks "Nos & Wake i love the shirt!!! HAHA :) " That figures I just put in new tail lights, wake or I would. I got them off of eBay for 6 dollars each & 8 dollars shipping each So both complete rear lights including the bulb assembly everything included 28 bucks for both sides all I had to do was plug it in and screw it in. When I took the old ones out the were full of water I didn't even realize it until I popped them out , How the hell can a light bulb work under water? Then again Ive seen a 220 volt 1.5 hp Goulds Jet pump work completely submerged in 6' of water, so anythings possible . Nos condition seems wonderful besides a few cracked vacuum lines and Ii replaces the rubber flex brake hoses .( they were sticking closed) She sat for years in a garage. This car purrs like a kitten. First time Ive ever owned a car with a sideways motor in it , But hey what ever it takes to get rid of that side to side swaying motion when ya hit the gas at Idle LOL Ya gotta wonder what the designers were thinking and if they had any mechanical experience at all , or if they just said make it happen or we will find some one that will. I want the motor side ways and that spinning thing hooked up to that tire, we dont need no stinking drive shafts!! or distributors!!

Try spraying WD40 on the key and putting it in and out of the lock and keep putting wd40 on the key and eventually that should get the lock working

Nice score,my trunk key would not work either,I took the part connected to the underside of the trunk off and found that the connecting rod,(flat metal rod ) was not reaching where it needed to so I went to the junkyard and found one that was the same only a little longer and it has worked great ever since. You may be able to adjust it some to make better connection if this is the same as mine was.

Gotta say, thats a sharp looking ride. identical to what mine was back in the day, but mines a little more beaten now :( was it common for the handles/mirrors/strip just beneath trunk to get real faded? mine had no rear spoiler, till i slapped one on, but dang that is sharp. sorry to say, mines got 140,000 miles more :(
