The dealer I purchased it from was cool and held the car for me so I could travel from Minnesota to California to pick it up. I flew on June 29th and arrived in Sacramento. I Had to wait until the next morning to pick up the car. I than had to deal with the CA DMV for Hours to get the car titled so I could drive it. I knew there was issues with the car and they were taken care of when I took possession. One major issue was a bad pulley.
Since I was In CA for the first time I decided to go to San Francisco and see the golden gate bridge.
After staying a day there I headed East. I decided I really wanted to go to a junk yard near Sacramento and spent a day there. Getting the parts I needed for my other vehicles I was ready to hit the open road. I decided My trip would include a stop in SD and Mount Rushmore so I set the GPS and started driving. Being alone I knew that many stops would be in order for rest and food.
I passed thru Reno and saw the casino lights at night.
Now being the kind of person I am I picked up Tucker, my now new friend.
From Reno we continued on to the Bonneville salt flats in Utah
and the great Salt Lake,
thru the mountains
and into SD. We saw Crazy horse
and Mount Rushmore,
Wall Drug and the Great Corn Palace. We than were in Minnesota. I said good bye to Tucker who wanted to continue on his trek and headed north to central Minnesota and home. Now you may think my trip ends here. Well in many way it did. I made it home and the car is wonderful. BUT, I wasnt home for even a week when the police decided that a nice CA car was to much for Minnesota and they had to pull me over.
It was a trip that will be with me forever in my mind and pictures. What a great country we live in to be able to drive and see all the great states and sight.
