Rusty me (I haven't run in over a year) + 3.5 hours of sleep + distracting cones that shouldn't have been there =
I screwed up bad and ate a cone in the final turn, too bad the camera didn't pick up the cone. I carried it under the car all the way to the stopbox
All in all it wasn't a very successful day, I really gotta gradually get back into the swing of it. :sad5:

WTF did they have those cones there for in the first place without a directional cone? That spot was just begging someone to smack a marshall....

You're my hero for being able to navigate that, I tried to predict your next turn and I was wrong every single time.
I think chalk lines would be better.

not bad Jerry..i dont think i could have done that good...cause every single cone i saw was freaking knocked over and yeah it would take some practice

That course is ridiculous. I've never been to a National or Regional event (just the local clubs) so my exposure isn't that big, but *dang*.
What's with the exit? Why do they keep the cone there until you stop?

If you hit that cone braking in the stopbox, your run is a DNF

But why do they have a stop box? Every course i've been to has the lights>shutdown/braking area> and then generally there's a turn in there to force you to idle speeds, and you're in the paddock/lane to the paddock/empty unused lot.
I understand cars need to be 5mph off course, but It just seems like it could cause backups, annoyances, etc.
Then again MAC is kinda military style in terms of worker switchover, run speeds (20 sec gaps on almost all courses) and overall timeline. Hard to get 140+ 6 runs at the larger venues if we are dogging it
