Re: Ok, so here's the new plan. (S10 Restoration)
My to-do list when we get it back as of now:
-Wire-wheel the underbody
(to include painting things like the rearend housing, driveshaft, leafsprings, etc,,)
-Spray/Roll on Chassis saver
-Big three in 0 (or 4) gauge wires
-Update the cab with all new speaker wire, + speakers
-Degrease the engine bay, clean it up, paint some parts
-Clean up the factory rims that are on it FOR NOW - (later on the truck will see new rims + tires)
-Install new insulation, and sound deadener
-Install the new rubber floormat
-Clean up the interior parts
-Clean up the NASTY bench seat
-re-install the new fog lamps (took them off for restoration)
-Do all new brakes, possibly brake lines, new u-joints
This is just a rough idea of what I have to do when i get it. I MAY be driving this truck when i turn 16, but by no means will it be mine. I'll definitely be treating it as if its my own, however.
The plan right now is - - what ever vehicle is going to be sitting at home while he's on the road, i probably will be driving, as i won't have a job RIGHT AWAY to afford my own vehicle and insurance. very soon i plan on picking up an older blazer of my own. And to tell you the truth guys, Its a hard choice between a Black Monte and a fresh black s15.
T-minus 9 or 10 days til we get to see it!!!!!

So we got the truck back today, and i Just came in from working on it, and , wow.......
That's all there is to say.
I cant believe how good this truck turned out. Unfortunately, i'm on dial up, and the internet is VERRRY slow for uploading pics.
I'm going to make my attempt at uploading at least ONE teaser pic for yall!

You & Ed were the first two that got pics.crash93ssei wrote:I win!!!! I already have pics
Anyhow, i managed to get one teaser up, lower quality... but.. you get the idea.

I've already got started on the underbod, wednesday and today was dedicated truck work. yesterday i got alot of the back half stripped down to a decent extent, sprayed, primed and painted the two back rims, and today was brake lines, and rear brakes. PITA rear brakes. Dad had to run 20 miles back into town because he broke the little circlip that holds the wheel cylinder in.
So, she's runnin decent, lookin 19x better,

i just got home from up north.. and i have an update.
well...
Mom and dad are mad at each other over some issues.... she's also mad at me although i have nothing to do with it... so the truck isn't down here for work.
there goes the rest of my summers work.
on the bright side, i do have some more pictures to show you guys.

then i started to get to work...

instead of buying new rims for now, we're just gonna clean the ones up that are on it.

sat down for a break...

boat load of parts

+ then the next day, we got to work on the back brakes. not too many pics though. just two.

Thats all i have for now, after we got the back brakes installed, we just put the fresh painted rims n tires on the back, and let it go.
More progress pics for the next time he's home.

*blows dust off thread*
Dad was just home a few weekends ago...... we didn't really do too much to the truck, besides I adjusted his shift needle string... wheras when you were actually in drive, you were in neutral LOL, and i tightened up the loose dash, and we had gotten some new foglights for the truck, wheras the blue ones died. went to clear ones that are almost like a beam and WOW, you talk about bright!!
Cousin ross that lives about 10 minutes from dads house up there, had took the truck to work one morning, because it had been sitting for so long, and on the way there he heard a POP- and he had thought he dropped the exhaust. so, he called a buddy of his to come pick him up and take it to a shop, ross looks underneath the hood, and #2 spark plug came out of the cylinder head.
and there were about two more that were loose.
Dad had his sister's boyfriend do the tune-up on it while he was on the road so it was done, and maybe he just didnt tighten them enough?
But, the truck is still lookin' purty, but shes still sitting outside in the weather up north i talked to mom about bringin it down here to bay city and letting me work on it in the garage (we've got a heated, insulated, running water 2 1/2 car garage) but, that didn't go over well, because well, you know, i'm sure she doesnt want her ex husbands truck sitting in the garage. whatever i guess.
I did bring some things back down here with me to work on...
the Blazer Bumper we had bought and tried on the truck - didn't workout. it looked like a front bumper on the back of a truck. so, is anyone looking to buy a rear bumper for a s10 blazer at all? (just the bumper, no mounts)
