Re: 86 bonneville
You may have a G body, but it's not your Bonneville. Your Bonneville is actually an H body.

2009 Chevy Silverado 2500HD crew cab, 6.0, Z71. The project mover.
2002 Regal GS: 3.4 pulley, E85, and quicker than my old 99
1982 Pontiac Grand Prix L67, T56, GT45, T56, Holley EFI; It's pretty quick Mod list here

No, it is a G body platform. 1986 is a front engine, rear wheel drive on a Bonneville. The last of the full framed Bonnevilles.bs009 wrote:You may have a G body, but it's not your Bonneville. Your Bonneville is actually an H body.
1987 is when the Bonneville switched to the Front Wheel Dive H Body platform.
It actually has more in common with the '82 Grand Prix in your sig in terms of construction. Both are 108" wheelbase, the Bonnie just has two extra doors

Yup, definitely a G Body. I am a big G Body fan myself, I have owned a couple '82 Grand Prixs and currently own an '82 Cutlass. Still want an '86 - '88 Monte Carlo SS and a '86 / '87 Grand National
bs009.... I never realized that you had an '82 GP! I need pics

Re: 86 bonneville
I stand corrected. My bro has an 86 Lesabre so I just assumed that 86 Bonneville's were also H-body's. I guess you learn something new everyday.
yep, I've had the Grand Prix for a couple years now. I've been working on it for a while. It was sopposed to be my daily driver last year until I picked up my 94 Regal. I spent months swapping in a 3800 from a 1991 Regal into it so that way it could have a solid running engine with a decent amount of pickup. It had the 4.1 liter V6 in it before but it had some issues so we took it out. I did the swap kinda in a hurry so it's not that pretty under the hood, but it's functional. Now I wish I would have spent more time on it.
Right now the transmission has some issues so I have to take it apart again and see what we did wrong with the rebuild before I can use it on a daily basis. I'm hoping to have the transmission out here by the end of the month so I can drive it this summer. Maybe someday after college I'll get my hands on a Pontiac V8 to put under the hood, but for now this engine works pretty well.
I don't have any recent pictures of it because it really needs a good detailing and I've been waiting to get it running before I work on the exterior. Maybe I'll start another thread after i finish it in a couple months showing the whole swap and some better pictures of it. For now though Here's a couple older pics to hold you over.

BTW, you've got a very nice Cutlass there Crash93ssei
