Eh, it sucks to have to report somebody like that. It'll likely affect their driving career a lot. On the other hand, I could have been seriously hurt or killed had I not been paying attention right when I was cut off. Drive carefully and charge your cell phone is the moral here.

More fun with 18-wheelers
Coming back from a job interview in Delaware today (love the lack of sales tax!), an 18-wheeler decided to be a road hog, tailgating me through a construction zone, then zipping ahead and cutting me off immediately after the construction ended.
I got a phone number for the company, and gave their communications manager the information of what happened, and the information off the truck. I think the trucker got the hint when I paced him up a steep hill, clearly talking on my handsfree. Suffice to say that truck suddenly started acting a lot better.

You did the right thing. Driving, period, is a responsibility, and an eighteen-wheeler is an even greater one. Not something to mess around with.

I agree. Just because this is their living and they spend all kinds of time on the road and are on a timeline doesn't give them the right to do anything that the rest of the motoring public wouldn't/shouldn't do. They should be more cautious, as they have +/- 80,000 lbs going 70 MPH, versus a 4,000 lb car. Not to say that trucking isn't a worthwhile job, or that it's easy, or anything else, but you gotta follow the rules of the road.dakotapalm wrote:You did the right thing. Good thing you did....anyone driving those needs to be even more responsible than a normal driver.

Last time that happened to me, I just called the trooper instead. I was on a long road trip, and it took about 30 minutes for the trooper to find us, but I did have the satisfaction of seeing him pulled over.

The last time I called a trooper for this, they brushed me off. I generally approve of law enforcement, but huh? I figured calling the company would get a better result.
And I agree, the larger the vehicle, the more responsibly you have to drive it. Being in a semi doesn't make you "king of the road".
