Re: alternative to the bonneville
The car I want after college would be a Volkswagen Jetta Sportwagen TDI with a stick and interlagos seating (sadly it doesn't come like that from the factory, but I can dream, right?...).
The unrealistic alternative would be a Porsche Panamera. Say what you want about the styling, I've grown to like it.

Re: alternative to the bonneville
As an alternative to a Bonnie? Id imagine it'd be something of a similar concept. Luxurious, sporty, stylish, etc...
The Lincoln Mark VIII was pretty sweet, but its still a Ford. RWD is a major plus, if there was one thing Id change about the Bonnevilles it would be a swap to RWD. The Impalla/Caprice/Roadmaster/Deville was pretty badass, but I don't like the LT1, Id have to swap to an LSX based engine. I like wagons, too.
As a money is no object Bonneville substitute, I'd be looking at BMW 5 series and Mercedes E55 AMG or E63 AMG. Maybe try out a Masserati Quatroporte.
As my ultimate daily driver I'd probably want more luxury than sport. I roadrace motorcycles, so a sporty car doesnt really mean a whole lot to me. Id rather have something like a Bentley Continental GT, where it's competent, but still very comfy.
Too many to choose from... It would all depend on how many cars I was limited to.

Monster? 350 CID, 275 HP. Hardly a monster. That post made little to no sense.ricosuave420 wrote:ouch, that hurt, im ashamed to know that the monster lt1 vette engine was in a wagon, so now the only ting the impala has going for it is the body style, i think it looks menacing,

There's only one logical thing to use an LT1 for:

A heat exchanger and hot tub. Yes, we built this at school

Re: alternative to the bonneville
110 degrees F no problem. We shut the engine off at that point and just bask in the jets (yes, there are jets and a proper pump, need 110V outlet however) for a couple hours before having to warm it up a bit again.

1. easily would take a 1998+ Grand Prix.
2. a black with red striping '87 monte SS. 350 sbc, 350 turbo trans, and an open road. hands down. such a beautiful ride. pop's had one. she was stolen in tennessee, swapped overnight at a hotel with a station wagon. saddest car story he ever told me.
