Gear Shift knob

I was trying to remove the gearshift knob so i can take that whole center console/arm rest off so i can finish taking my carpet off...i was lookin around on here i couldnt find any post or any questions on it, if i overlooked something i apologise for this post but i pulled a pin out that looks like a big staple and the gear knob still wont budge...can somebody help me please

pull harder. seriously. thats the only thing that is holding it on, other than years of gunk.

lol alright...might try to use a rubber mallet or something lol cuz i hurt my arm pulling on that thing lol

Give it a little twist while you pull, but nothing extreme.

yeah it takes some force. be careful though, i punched myself in the face when taking mine off.

Get a screwdriver and use the top of the gearshift for leverage. Be careful not to damage gearshift (or yourself).

Hey what does this big staple look like? Gear shift knob comes off, wife wants it fixed. Anyone have a picture? Auto parts store didnt have one, I got an eclip but that will take some modifications.
