Ha, I edited the links too.. I don't do this all that much. Now a viewable picture. Thanks, though. Mike

Wow, that looks amazing. Did you have the wheels re-chromed? Otherwise that chrome is flawless!!!

The wheels came one at a time, slow process, through a local wheel guy and ebay. 2 of them were very gently used, not a mark on them, no staining and no pitting - you could see a slight discoloration where a wheel weight once was, which polished out. One wheel was NOS, never mounted. The last wheel had been rechromed - and is actually the nicest one, the chrome is smooth and perfect even deep in the lugnut holes. No wheel weights on the pretty side, I had the tire guy use the stick-on weights. We'll see if they stay! I still have the gold lace wheels, ha, you can see one of them near my Olds in the background. Mike

Ok, makes sense. Just know that with stick-on weights, they will never be perfect, as you can't get it perfect without the weight on the edge of the wheel, as of yet. Just know that if there is a tiny vibration, that's more than likely what it is, and it's probably about as good as it's going to get.

Cost on paint job is hard to say - I'm the painter! I bought a gallon of base, I've purchased 2 quarts of primer. I used up a half-gallon of clear I had in stock and then bought another one. Not counting sand paper, rubbing compound and my time - about 500 bucks in paint material.
It wasn't a mask, scuff and go paint job. The body shell I used was green - so it has been painted black 100%. If you remove the exhaust heat shields, you'll find black. Take out the dash and the dash wiring harness, headliner - everything, and you'll only see black. Mike

Can't wait to see how parts from Thing II tied into this project, Mike.

Looks awesome so far! About a weekend or so of work to do yet?
:)

Wow, lots of questions. Thanks, and thanks for the compliments!! I hope I answer them all..

1) No rotisary (spelling?) I had the body shell on blocks, quite high up, painted it on my back.
2) When I am done, it will be a sunny day summer car. Although my 15 year old daughter has her eye on it, which is pretty funny.
3) I expect to have it done by spring. All the parts that are not on it need to be painted, and I have some house projects to do now. My younger daughter is on a swim team, my older daughter dances ballet, jazz, and pointe - so I am busy with much more important things.
4) I will take a picture of the interior at some point to show off the front door speakers from thing 2.

When it is finished, I have several hours of tweaking to do on it. Little things like very small areas that need a little more buffing, etc. This is what I plan to do over the winter.
