She is leaking antifreeze!?

My 2003 se with 112,xxx miles is leaking antifreeze. I added some yesterday until the level was to the line, and throughout the night it managed to leak out..im assuming. Any ideas?

any puddles underneath? have the LIM gaskets been changed at all?

nope, they are stock. there is one small (half-dollar size) puddle on the front passenger side by the tire.

Sounds like coolant elbows leaking. Replace them and lim gaskets asap.

I wouldnt say it's coolant elbows just yet. I would check the waterpump too.

Well, if there isn't fluid sitting in the driveway I am going staight to the UIM and LIM gaskets. I've seen the EGR burn a hole in the coolant passages and leak into the intake. Does it run okay? Smoking? Hard starting? We need a little bit more info here.

I've also had my water pump and gasket go out at about 100K and leaked fluid out as well. Never had the coolant elbows leak on me ever and that is with taking them in and out several dozen times, but it is possible since they are crappy plastic with O-rings.

i woudl say no as we mainyl do that to help bleed the air out of the system, speaking of where your leak was found, did you spill any when filling up the bottle?? and it leaked down over night, besdies that, collant may be leaking from the UIM and going intot he valley's of the LIM, if not, then it is a slow internal leak

no im sure i didnt spill any. from my research, i think its something to do with the uim/lim gaskets. as you mentioned, it is a very slow leak (~about~ 2-3 tablespoons per night.)

Is that waht you are seeing as a loss in the resivour or on the ground. If it is a water pump or elbow issue it is usually seen on the floor. If it is a UIM/LIM issue it is either internal or lays on the top of the motor.

I don't want to see you replace the UIM and gaskets and find out you have a bad water pump.

Although, you probably still want to do the gaskets and you could do the WP at the same time.

well from what you said, i want to think that it is the water pump. the leak is found on the ground near the front passenger side of the car.

it coudl be the water pump

but with 113k miles, might just do the LIM/UIM for safety and peace of mind
