Got an email from this guy asking if I would be interested in buying an SSEi. He said he saw my ads on craigslist and knew I was they guy to go to. The car only has 131k and is in great shape, other than some minor hail damage. The motor started knocking on him and they quit driving it. He was looking for $1000, but I offered $800 and he accepted. The best part is he was only 30 miles from here, so the tow home wasn't bad at all.

The interior is in fantastic shape, I won't even have to touch it. Maybe a simple vacuum.

According to the title, they purchased it in 06 with only 13k miles! You can tell it was their baby. No hood herpes, no sunfaded window trim, no sagging visors, no rust under fuel door, no body work needed

X2... definitely worth at least 5k, especially if the underside is just as clean.

Dang, you get all the deals. That's a stripped SSEi though, no sunroof or heated seats. Interesting.

I don't know about $5k profit, but the car should be able to sell for around $5k. It books at $5,080 in excellent, which is what its worth if I can get the hail damage fixed.

Luckily I have an engine in the garage already, but it does have higher miles. I'm learly to put in an engine that has higher miles than the car, but all the salvage yards want $600+ for an engine, even with 200k+.

They want a bit for the L67/L32's here too... No matter what you'll pay a bit for a good one.. But that car is a great start... A lower mileage engine may cost you but in the long run it may pay off... Not as good as we'd hope but at least the car would be true to its form...

Stripped SSEi or not, that is a very nice Bonneville...

If you get desperate enough to travel I can hook you up with the best PDR place in the state.

IIRC Andrew has a good PDR guy already. However, I don't see any dents on it?

Well it is white. Hard to spot in pics.

Ya they are hard to see with it being white, which is good I guess. I was just going to go outside and try and take some pics that would show them, but we just got about 1/2" of snow since I posted last. You'll have to use your imagination until I can get some before and after pics. And ya, I already called my PDR guy to come over and look at it to see if its practical to fix it. I'd have to pull the headliner to have the roof done, and I have a spare trunk lid. The only issue would be the aluminum hood, as there isn't access to backside.

As far as the motor goes you could always do a series III l26 shortblock, lkq ebay used to have them for 2-300 all day

L26 is NA, I'd need an L32.

From what I researched the l26 and l32 had the same internals after 2005 so a person could just buy the l26 and just use the l67 heads

No they don't... The L26 Rods are not the same in length... The pistons are also not the same...

If he was to keep the car and tinker with it then fine he could use an L26, but without a good tune could risk popping pistons...

Being that he is going to sell the car, L67 or L32 Only...

Both used Forged Rods, but they are different... Pistons are also different..

I'm not interested in doing anything other than a complete engine swap. If I have to do any work with the heads, then I'd need a $200+ gasket kit, plus all that work. Much rather just drop something in, at the most swapping brackets.

Here are some pics of the hail damage that the seller had emailed me. Again, pretty minor from what I've seen.

My mistake, sorry for the misinformation, I wish I had found one without heated seats and a sunroof. Then I wouldn't have had broken seat elements and a rain leak problem
