I am new to this forum and new Bonneville owner so any help is much appreciated. I have a 2001 Bonneville SSE 135k miles (I believe its SSE idk how to tell the difference but its not base) that I just bought... I have a P0420 code coming up and thought it was because I had a vacuum leak but I fixed it and code is still there. Also the car keep dying on me but not while driving only when its at a complete stop and/or coming to a stop (fuel pump?) The last issue is the power windows, door locks and mirrors do not work there are no lights on the buttons on any of the doors except the driver door. I saw in forums about a crappy splice I removed it and respliced but no dice...
I heard the motors and transmissions on these thigs are awesome so I picked it up at what I thought was a descent price now just need some helpful pointers to get me in the right direction on this thing.

Thanks again :sadeyz:

check the MAF sensor that is a common problem and will cause shut off at low rpms!

Only way to check it is pull it and clean it right or just replace?

The dying issue could be a bad crank position sensor.

Windows would either be water leaks or door module.

You can pull it and clean it with some MAF cleaner spray, if it is really nasty you can GENTLY!!! rub them with a q-tip soaked in the cleaner. The wires are very small and delicate so they will break if they get pushed too hard.

As for the windows and locks not working, all those symptoms lead to the drivers door switch being bad.

We will get you all straightened around with your car :)

Not sure on the code, it is a pretty common code to come up though, do some searching here on it and you will find a ton of info on it.

Yes, I mean the master window switch mounted on the drivers door, fairly common issue and when that dies out the other windows won't work, power locks tend to have issues, and memory seats won't work either.

Are all the leads on the battery tightened down? Everything clean and corrosion free? Those are some areas to check for jumping voltage.
