some background info on this post from about a year ago - viewtopic.php?f=8&t=23809

still curious if anyone remembers seeing one of these in the showroom window of a Pontiac dealership back in the day? Does anyone have old photos of Bonnevilles in the showroom when they were for sale brand new?

well it took me a while to get around to it, but I finally built a mount for it. So the poster is finally out of the storage tube and permanently unrolled and flat and on display.

In order to duplicate the effect of the poster clinging to a window, I decided to "sandwich" the poster between 2 sheets of plexiglass and then support the whole thing in a wood frame, I couldn't afford 2 4X4 pieces of plexi, the local shop wanted $6 per sq foot, so I had to use 2 2X4 pieces of plexi per side, taped together with clear packing tape (which explains the seam you might notice in the attached photo), with the seam horizontal on one side and vertical on the other side.

I then built a wood frame with an inside perimeter notch so the poster/plexiglass sandwich "floats" in the frame. this is one of my most prized pieces of bonneville memorabilia.

thanks, appreciate the comments, yes I'm very happy with the way it turned out, it was just over 2 years ago that I first learned about the existance of this poster, it took me a year to pry it away from the GM employee that had it, I think the main reason he finally passed it over to me, was that I promised to be a good caretaker of this (what I believe to be rare) item, and I intend to fulfill that promise.

Not sure where I will hang it, I think it would look great right in front of our living room's full-length, floor to ceiling windows, but for some reason I can't possibly understand, my wife does not agree (yet) ...

Actually, YES, I remember those. Along with all the brochures. At one time, I had a ton of them. Not sure what I ever did with them though.

Hi, do you remember any details of how it was presented, or what other promotional items were used in a Pontiac new car showroom in that era? I don't know how this poster could have possibly "clung" to a window. it's fairly thick plastic and 4 ft x 4 ft, so before I framed it I tried, and I couldn't get it to cling enough to even come close to supporting it's own weight.
