Geeze, this doesn't happen very often, but today, she didn't start. It was -12F this morning, battery seemed to have a good charge, all the lights came on, but click click click. So I unplugged the block heater and plugged in my battery charger. Will let it trickle charge all day while I'm at work. (I took the Explorer) I guess the battery could be run down just enough? The battery was new in August.

You need a battery warmer.

Maybe. I never had one last year, it started in -28F.
The true test is to come, Wednesday night we are going to dip down to -30F, going to feel like below -40 with the windchill (which wont affect my car) Going to head home in a bit, see if it starts, then take it to work and put it in the shop for the remainder of the day. More than likely, I left something on Friday night when I got home. This morning was the first time I went to use the car since Friday.

You also went from an optima to a cheapo battery, which can freeze...

I haven't ran an optima in years. Since 2008 actually.

Wasn't cheap either. Was 125 dollars.

Well, you know what I mean. If it still happens, I'd look into a battery heater...

Every battery becomes more prone to that as they get older. What's not happy about Damien's attitude?

Howling, barfin black *shoot* (as usual in sub -10F), I let it warm up completely. It smoothed out by the time it was warm.

Well, it did it again tonight. Went to start it at work, this time its -20F out...turned over a bit, then clicked. Battery was weak once again. Tossed the charger on it at work, and it started right up..in great protest once again. Going to have to leave an extension cord coming from the building to the car so I can atleast plug the block heater in.
It started good this morning, no problem, was plugged in all night though.
Tisk Tisk.
