i know this has been asked before but i want to get a fwi but very concerned about suckin up water were i live it rains offten is there any protection tips to do?

Never before has there been a documented case of any FWI in a Bonneville sucking up water.

As long as you aren't driving through 2' deep puddles, you will be fine.

If there is possible flooding in your area where the filter will be submerged in water, then yeah it might suck it in. But you shouldn't be driving in that anyway, and it won't suck in rain water.

I'm running the older style bonne 92-99 and our set up is more exposed to the elements than the 2k guys. With that being stated though it doesn't mean there is an inherently higher risk for our set up. We actually get more fresh air to our set up than the fully enclosed 2k's.

Like the guys said, as long as you don't plan on driving through 2' deep puddles you'll be fine.

It's an improvement over the factory design that you'll feel in your butt dyno.
