summer visit to pick-a-part

Post by aukc »

it's been 3 months since the last time I visited the pick-a-part, so yesterday I made the trip.

for the summary of my spring visit - http://www.pontiacbonnevilleclub.com/fo ... 60&start=0

there are still 5 wrecks in the yard from last visit (prior visit/recent visit):

Nice, I've only been seeing SE's lately around by me.
It would be nice to find some SLE, SSE, SSEi's once in a while. Hope that the trip went well and that you were able to get what you went for. :)

parts that I picked on the Aug 4th visit

SSE logo'ed hood insulator (this one has to be in the best shape I've ever seen one)

everything else

rear view mirror (has off/min/max switch which mine doesn't have, don't know if they're interchangable, haven't researched yet but grabbed it anyway)

Image

cruise control unit (that's my original on the left, I wanted one that looked better and the one I picked on the right after a bit of clean-up)

Gotta love those junk yard runs. I did that last weekend and have documented the results elsewhere in these forums. I have yet to make a run that wasn't successful on some level or another. I may not always find exactly what I went there after, but I always find something that makes the trip worthwhile. Sometimes I even find stuff that's a totally unexpected bonus.

I was just there last month, but 2 fresh wrecks came in so I couldn't resist.

I only had time to check out the Bonnevilles this time, there are still 4 wrecks in the yard from last visit (last months visit/todays visit):

and the 2 fresh wrecks that prompted the visit:

Makes me wish my car was a generation older, I can't find any '00+ nearby for the life of me, but there are literally 10+ of the 90's models at any given junkyard.

The pick and pull near me did a 1/2 off for Labor Day weekend and I couldn't find a *dang* thing for my car, other than a $2 W-body dipstick tube for my new headers. :banghead:
