I hope someone can help. My 84 Bonnie has spoke hubcaps that bolt onto a bracket mounted on the wheel nuts. No matter how tight I tighten the center bolt holding the hubcap, the hubcap turns and will eventually cut the valve stem. The hubcaps have sustained some damage due to curbs but still seem to fit tight. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Stumped

ever try using the valve steams with the chrome metal cover? it would probably make it much harder for the hubcap to cut the valve steam..

my 2 cents

Pictures would be great, as there are very few members that have that body style.

Welcome!

Is it just one that does this, or all of them?

Those would do the job as long as the metal sleeve went down past the hole in the wheel cover. Back in the '80s, a lot of auto parts stores used to carry chrome valve stem sleeves and caps in blister packs for $3 or $4 a set. I think Western Auto used to put them on your car as a value add if you bought the road hazard warranty with a new set of tires. My dad got that deal one time and they looked pretty sharp with the wire wheel covers on his Olds 88. I haven't seen or even looked for them in a store lately, but they're probably still available.
