I dont want to seem to excited about SEBF 2k9, but last year was fun. I just wanted to get the ball rolling as far as planning the when's and where's of the event, since I know that we all have tricky schedules. I would like to ask if we can do this a little earlier this year as Jessica is supposed to be due on the 29th of October..which would be right around the time we had B.Fest last year. If earlier wont work, then if we could push it back by a few weeks into November, that might work out too..
The weekends are
OCT 2-3-4
OCT 9-10-11
OCT 23-24-25
OCT 30-31-1
NOV 6-7-8
NOV 13-14-15
NOV 20-21-22

I vote for 2-3-4 or 9-10-11.

Hope everyone is looking forward to this as well as me.

I'll wait for the general consensus and then more than likely just request the time off for whatever that date turns out to be.

:happy1:

I'd be happy to supply food again. No preference on dates, whenever everybody else wants to get together is fine by me.

ok cool. Now we just need don and brad to chime in on sleeping and working space. I have extra room at my house, problem being that my house is about two hours from don's LOL

Think we should start a separate projects thread like we did last year or is it still a bit early??

Well i have a bit of a laundry list for the 2000
Gatorbacks for the main drive and the blower
General tune up
Trans dump and fill
and Dump the Dex and install the alum LIM gaskets.

No porting this time i think..probably wont be enough time..

Of course i could do all this work before SEBF..but its more fun to have extra eyes and hands..and people to help you kill a 12pack.

I planned on going out of town the first week of October, so those days won't work for me. I don't have much planned for the SSE at that time...though if things continue on track for a possible mod I'm contemplating, there might be some massive wrench turning either on the car or off it. I aint saying what it is yet because it's still in the research phase, but if it will all work, I'll spill the beans then.

The biggest thing that is keeping me from doing this mod is cost. I could buy a '99 SSEi outright for the cost of this "conversion". But this would be a one-of-a-kind swap...guaranteed first, and probably only.

Well, scratch that idea for the ultimate upgrade plan. The subframe won't allow an LS4 due to the angling that happens at the corners

Still gonna do something though...I want a little more gusto, but don't want to go super. So, I'm hatching another upgrade plan...this one is entirely doable, and should be much cheaper to do.

You know..i would give my left nut for your sse if was any color but white...why not just enjoy the smooth ride the way it is and get your go fast kicks in the SS. Drive it like you stole it. LOL You certainly are a tinkerer. My old neighbor was the same way..just love to have a project..i love to not have a project and just let the projects happen naturally. But then again, if no one pushes that boundary, we never would have to re-draw the map.

So I guess that you and Don are the Lewis and Clarke of the 3800. Keep stabbing westward! :beerchug:

Oh and if you find a 99 ssei for a good price holler at me..I miss my leg room afforded by the old design. Plus if the mod bug ever hits, I want it to be on a car that isnt the daily driver.

Sweet, I was wondering when this thread would pop up.

I'm coming, for sure. Bringing the truck this time I think. I really need to do the lower gaskets (they aren't bad...yet, but it would make me feel better).

As do I. I *just* finished the home interior remodel, and I still have a few things to do for school. I only have 3 more classes to take to get my transfer degree, then I can start on my higher classes. We all have been pretty busy lately down here, that much is certain!

I could possibly do Oct. 9-11. Right around then is my fall semester break. I'll have to see what my fiancee is doing around then.

I believe I'd be open for pretty much any weekend. I know I'll have classes, but my schedule this semester will be condensed between Monday and Wednesday. Not sure what my brother's schedule will be like yet though.

Gwen has unfinished business with Florida

I will let you know a little closer to the end of the month. Have to check with my kids and wifey to see if they can cover the store around that time. I would love to bring the SSEI and see what it can do. Then again I could bring the 88 SSE and see if I can get clm2112 to help install the NOS kit!

um typically held in titusville and that would be about 2 1/2 hour drive or so. mapquest says the most direct route is 75 to turnpike to the 408 (east west expressway) to 50 and 50 to titusville. However, we usually make a early friday run to the junkyard in daytona..so it might be easier on you to take 75 to 46 and 46 over to ormond/ daytona and just meet us all there. that shaves off about 45 minutes
