South Ontario Visit

My wife and I have booked a three week vacation to Ontario June 15 - July 7.

The purpose is to visit with family and friends.

June 15 - 20 we are on foot staying in downtown TO at a bed and breakfast.

Then we rent a car and drive up to Sudbury to stay at my brothers and visit with mom for a week.

I tried renting something other than a Toyota, Kia, VW or Hyundai and all I could secure was either an Impala or a Charger.

Then we are back down to the London/TO area from June 29 - July 6


Should give us plenty of time to recover before we are back to Oregon for WCBF10 July 19-26


I'll be hoofing it around downtown TO for five days looking for Bonnevilles.

Bonnevilles in Ontario? You won't find many. Especially downtown Will you be hitting up Hamilton?

Last summer I got a Ford Fusion from Hertz, SEL trim and AWD with a 3.0L 240hp V6 for the same quoted price as a Corolla. That would be boatloads better than any Impala or Charger...

Hey Jerry, ya I'll probably be cruising by Hamilton on the way to visit my cousin in Brantford before we hit London towards the end of June.

Not much choice of vehicles in downtown TO. The Fusion would be a must in winter with AWD but my brother is a city cop and drives a Magnum and an Impala so I'll probably go with the RWD Charger with the Impala as second choice.
I found a convertible Mustang at the airport but they wanted 3X the price for it.
Hertz had the Fusion but couldn't guarantee that it wouldn't end up being a Toyota instead.

I'm bringing my laptop to stay in touch as plans may morph once we get up to Sudbury.

My plans are definite and the flights are booked.

My wife and I fly into Toronto Pearson 11:45 pm June 15!
We are staying at a Bed and Breakfast in the heart of downtown TO until the following Monday June 21.
I'm renting a car on Sunday and driving north to Sudbury for a week to visit family.
Then heading back down to visit friends and more family.
June 28 - Orangeville
June 29 - Port Elgin
June 30 - Brantford
July 1 - 4 - St.Thomas & London
Then back to TO for July 5-6 before we fly back to Vancouver July 7

I plan to return the rental car on July 5

While we're in TO the only firm plan is a barbecue at an old friends on June 17 and with my Uncle on June 18 or 19 TBA
The rest of the time we're hoofing it around town enjoying the shops and bistro's....and trying to avoid the G20 security guards rubber bullets and activists bombs. LOL

This should be an awesome visit and we plan on WOOPING it up Gooooooooood.

Thanks Tracy. We're here now. Arrived at 1:am....10:pm Western time.
It seems I brought the rain with me. ....but the forecast is for better weather.

Just heading out to cruise Young St. and see some sights. Barbecue planned this aft at a friends home.

No worries Peter. We left TO yesterday and are in Sudbury now.
It was a great six days in downtown TO. We stayed at Beverley and College in the heart of the city. Walked 24,000 steps every day. Attended the Much Music awards on Sunday, the Nxne Music festival on Yonge and Dundas, the Bite of Italy street party, caught shows and ate at the finest restaurants. The weather was hot and sunny every day. Fantasitic!!
Much better time than California trip.

Now we're here for the week and then back down next Monday for a day in Orangeville, a day in Port Elgin, a day in Brantford, two days in St. Thomas, two days in London and then back to downtown TO on 5th and 6th.

Yup, saw plenty of Bonnes too. !!

Have a rental Charger. Gutless wonder but it kept up to a BMW on the 401 at 180 kph.

I know, I know, I risked a $10,000 fine but.....meh......I am experienced enough to play and not get caught.

You saw lots of Bonnes? I'm lucky to see a few a week, and an SSEi every few weeks

yeah its 10 grand fine and the car impounded on the spot for 30 days, your licence suspended on the spot until you get before a judge then you get to find out what the fine is.

keep it under 150 on the 401

I tend to keep 'er under 130. 130-140 is a very gray area, you might get nailed or you might not. Luck of the draw.

Ya I've been keeping it under 130 and not using the CC.

I have hidden my Italian flag in shame. I knew it would curse them to failure!

......or maybe it was that gross rusty Bonne with the Chevy sticker on the back and fake fender vents on the side.

These eastern cars just aren't the same as our "nose in the air" western cars. LOL
