That seems to be a problem that is cropping up with some of the Grand Prixs. There are about 3 different possible problems. The most common is a small solenoid near the ignition switch. Others are the cable, and I believe there is a solenoid near the shifter. Sometimes, spraying some graphite oil in and near the ignition cylinder will free things up.
In the meantime, if you raise the steering wheel, and look under the column, near the ignition switch, there will be a small, round plastic cover that can be popped out. It's about the size of a dime. Push up inside there with something like the eraser end of a pencil, and that should allow the key to be removed.
