Post subject: | Door Hinge Adjustement - 2001 Park Avenue |
I'm not sure if the hinges are the same as the Bonne's, but my drivers door sags a bit, and it doesn't seem like the hinges have play. I replaced the door check strap since it was noisy, but it didn't help. So my question is... I assume the hinges can be adjusted, I just don't see any "slots" where I can loosen the bolts and move the door around. Is it done on the body end of the hinge, or the door end? Thanks! |

This is what I have for instructions. Position the door fore or aft at the body hinge pillar attachment. Perform the following steps as needed: Loosen the fasteners. Reposition the door. Tighten the fasteners. Tighten the fasteners to 34 N·m (25 lb ft). Adjust the lock striker. If more adjustment is needed, remove the door. Remove the hinges from the pillar and the door. Ream the stud holes in the pillar side of the hinges in order to allow for more adjustment. Reinstall the hinges to the pillar and the door. Leave the nuts on the pillar side of the hinge loose. Align the door as needed. Position the door fore or aft at the body hinge pillar attachment. Perform the following steps as needed: Loosen the fasteners. Reposition the door. Tighten the fasteners. Tighten the fasteners to 34 N·m (25 lb ft). |
