Air bag warning light

Talk about the other 3800 powered GM cars, particularly for items not covered in other sections that may be unique to your year/model, and differ from a Bonneville.

Air bag warning light

My son's 05 Gran Prix. All standered stuff. No mods. The air bag warning light came on and stays on.What could it be?

could be a lot of things... i'm not sure if the grand prixs have the airbag control module under the passenger seat like the bonnevilles do, but moisture likes to get in there and corrode the connections. the only way to reliably diagnose SIR problems is with a tech II

Keven had his come on on his '98 GP GTP. He was in fender bender and when the body shop scanned it to see why air bag idiot light was on, they said the retractable seat belt needed replaced. I have NO IDEA how that would throw an idiot light . . . .
