Something I've been wondering about for a while is, should I go with more timing as modding permits or leave the timing where it is and go with more boost.
Well, I'm to that point now and want input from the pro's.
I'd like to drop to a 3.4" on the stock GEN III with the rockers and then with future modding just add timing until that becomes inefficient, then start adding the boost.

Opinions?

In general, you are better off getting as much timing as you can first, and that should come before boost.

Most people go for boost first simply because they don't have the ability to tune, but in the long run, most here would probably benefit from more timing and a larger pulley.

The most I can adjust on the fly is 6 degrees on the Zilla, so I tune that in first, then see how far I can drop in pulley size.

The mantra I hear, at least re: boosted Series 2, is: get to 18-20 degrees advance WOT KR-free--only then start thinking about adding more boost.

Supposedly, any more than 20 degrees advance is unnecessary, possibly even counter-productive.

Not by default. You run different fuel, have higher natural compression, and can't pulley down. Alot of differences that would probably point to a different ideal number for you.

No, the NA tables are much higher stock due to the lower cylinder air mass.
