This may sound like a "read the Techinfo dummy!" question, but let me explain...

The Techinfo says you need one bottle for older superchargers, and two bottles for M90's. I purchased two bottles of GM Supercharger Oil from a dealer. I want to flush and fill, so I'll need more oil than if I just changed without flushing.

My question is this: do I need two bottles to flush, and then two more to fill the second time? Or do I flush with one bottle and refill with the second bottle?

Just want to make sure I have enough oil on hand before I start this.

Thanks --

You don't need to "flush". Suck the old fluid out, pour 8 oz (your two dealer bottles) new fluid in, drive 100k miles, lather, rinse, repeat.

Flushing is something for peace of mind if you don't know the long-term history of the oil change frequency, and your budget supports it.

2 dealer bottles, or one INTENSE bottle for the M90. The M62 takes half that.

Well; I finally did the job tonight.

The little GM bottles come with a fold-out pouring nozzle, so rather than using the syringe (which I had standing by) I just put the nozzle in the snout hole and squirted the stuff directly in. Very easy.

I stopped to check often after getting half of the second bottle in. I never saw the oil, so I kept putting more and more in. Before I knew it, I had put in the whole bottle and still didn't see the oil at the bottom of the threads. I tried to squirt in the last few drops, and observed that a little oil from inside the snout spurted back out. I took this to mean that the oil was indeed near the bottom of the threads, and the little puff of air made a little bit come out.

So; I then screwed the plug back in and called it a day. The car drove just fine on 10-mile test run.

So; this makes me wonder if two 4-oz bottles is just a little bit shy of what is needed (I only leaked about a teaspoonful). Should I bother getting another bottle to top it off? (I'm guessing it will be fine as-is...)

You want another bottle on the shelf anyway. If you got 8oz in, you're ok, but you may want to top off later.
