Last July I replaced my wore out alt with a high amp one. (replaced the belt too) The new one came with a smaller (overdrive? pulley) and meassures just under 2". Not had any issues until recently ( mainly because of rain & puddles here in southern MO) the belt slips to point the my volts will drop down to about 8-10v until the pulley & belt dry off. Can be several seconds.

Anybody know a part number to a shorter length belt from another vehicle that may fit? I believe I still have my old alt around that I can scab the oem size pulley to replace the smaller one if I need to. The instruction info with my new alt said to leave the smaller one on it tho...

Most belt manufactures use a part number that designates how many ribs and how long it is.

A 94 SE serpentine belt is a 6 rib and somewhere between 102.5" and 103" long.

So take DAYCO for example, p/n 5061025DR. The 6 is for 6 rib, the 1025 is for 102.5" long. To get a 0.5" smaller belt, see if p/n 5061020DR exists. Or take any other p/n and replace 1025 with 1020.

While looking at belts I had that idea on the size but wasnt certain if it was or not. Thanks much!

I would install a splash shield and keep water out of the engine bay - that should solve your issue.
