We have a 99 Pontiac Bonneville that just started to act up. Something new that is! When my wife got home today, she shut the car off and took out the key and proceeded to leave the car, but the dinging sound that the Bonneville makes when the door is open and the keys are left in the ignition was still sounding. When you leave the car and shut the door, the sound stops, but the minute you open the door the chime starts again, even tho the key is not in the ignition.....did something else get set off that we did not know about? It is a quick chime sound! Please help me understand what is causing this or how to reset something....or is it trying to let me know if something is wrong, dying battery or what....battery does not show low level and car runs fine. My wife was out alot today in over 100 degree heat here in Southern California....thanks for your input! Clark

When you turn the lights on, do they all work? I had this issue in the Park Avenue, and it turned out to be a blown fuse for the running lights.

check the headlamp fuse, if there is no power to the light switch it will ding at you.

ok no rear lights when driving forward, only brake lights and reverse lights. Rear lights do not come on when you set alarm with key fob (which they always did) ...so is it a fuse?

You won't know if it is a fuse until you check them!
