Today I got around to ripping the front seats out of the LeSabre to get rid of the lingering problems from the rust hole I fixed earlier. Discovered another hole, but that's for another thread.

The airbag control module was all corroded on the bottom, and it got an inadvertent smack when taking it off the connector. There's also the sound of little particles rattling around inside.

So get a new one? I suspect I know what the answer is, but wanted to confirm.

I seem to recall a couple threads where the airbags deployed from water getting into the module. I'd be afraid to plug it back in.

Popping the cover off reveals the top of the board in pristine shape, and the bottom is all nasty! Finding some connections that have been jumpered by rust, I think I'll get a new module instead of playing airbag roulette!

So far the fuse is pulled and the module pulled. And the battery was disconnected before messing around. I think the airbags are safe for the time being.
