Ok I have a 1994 SSEI with a rattling motor we have narrowed it down to a possible main berring

How can you tell for sure if the main berring is your problem?

Also how much work is involved with a rebuild is it just swap the parts and your good or lots more than that involved
Im assuming there is a lot more work than meets the eye

Also about how much would it cost to do a rebuild myself the cheaper the better but I still want quality

How much is involved with just pulling the engine What would you estimate the time to pull an engine

I think you're probably better off with a new short block/long block swap. I have had my motor out before to do a cam swap and complete rebuild from the short block up. It took me about 4 hours to pull the motor.

Mains typically don't go bad...it would be the rod bearing that you're hearing. Have you eliminated the possibility of the supercharger coupler and/or the harmonic balancer yet?

Rod bearing failure isn't common, but it's not unheard of either.

Check your harmonic balancer for cracks in the rubber damping material first. That's commonly mistaken for a bearing problem. The harmonic balancer (crank pulley) is a two-piece pulley with rubber poured between to dampen vibrations and shock. As the rubber ages, it begins to crack around the face of the pulley near the outer perimeter (just under the belt paths). This allows the two metal halves of the balancer to clatter against each other.

Does the problem go away if you idle and lightly roll on the throttle? That's a sure sign it's the balancer without even visually inspecting it.

Well lets see if this helps no it does not go away if you drive it normal or just put your foot on the gas
Also we have run it for a minute or two with out the belts and the noise was persistent this would rule out supercharger would it not

Anything else how would you check the harmonic balancer though I would be so happy if that was the only problem
From what I remember I think you have to take the wheel and other stiff off to see it right

Yes, the easiest way to inspect the HB is to pull the passenger wheel off and remove the splash guard. Pretty clear view from there.

I've checked the HB and supercharger and neither of those are the problem

After sitting for about a year a noticed that the coolant in the overflow is kinda low could this mean it s leaking into the engine because there is non e on the ground could this be a possibility
