My driver side hub needed changed, it was whirring and buzzing the faster i went.

I got new 1 installed, bent dust shield, seemed to get back on but had to bend as to not scrape rotor.

Got new hub on and seems to be making noise as b4 but not as bad.

I put on new passenger side hub and cv shaft few months ago.

What else could cause it to whir?
Hubs were off ebay, China.
Would not changing both hubs at same time bother anything?
Would bad driver cv shaft cause whirrr?

Bonne is starting to need alot:tires, ball joints and hear its easier to do whole control arm & Probably SB links. Change 1 thing and puts pressure on another area.

Debating on her future?. Heard alot of things with the 95s: obd 1.5, shes still solid underneath, except subframe carriage was rusted out and needed welded to put new bushings on, it still creaks from the welds.

China bearings have a bad track record.

If the axle nut isn't torqued properly, you could end up with the same bearing noise.

We didnt torque it.

Also it has a hub axle nut on it from another GM. Old 1s threads were messed up & advanced didnt have anyt 95 bonnes.

Should I look for new nut or just re torque?

Thats probably the issue then. The hub assembly bearing preload is set by the axle nut torque. No problem with it coming from another GM. Re-torque it to whatever the spec is in tech info and loctite it.

I would get that corner in the air so theres no weight on the unloaded bearing. It can literally pull apart. You'll have to back the nut out pretty far to loctite the threads too.

You can get a loaner socket from most parts places.

Do i break hub nut free on ground?
Then jack corner up?
Or break free and tighten in air?

Get it in the air first, do the work on the nut, then put the car back down.

yes you can use wd-40 on it and let it soak in - use proper size socket with a breaker bar and it will break free

If you couldn't loosen a recently installed nut, it was probably well over-torqued.

I tried to break it loose w a HF $10 torque wrench & w no WD. Im pretty sure i broke torque wrench it wouldnt click when at correct torque for lugs

I got a new torque wrench and got 18in breaker bar. I can use hub socket from parts store.

Im going to try again tmrw. I hope I havent ruined hub or anything by over tightening

Im guessing i overtighted the hub nut & or stripped axle shaft.
I cannot get hub nut off. I did the breaker bar, I put at least 250lbs of force on it, no luck & wd40 thoroughly 2x.

I stripped axle hub nut getting old hub out. I put on another GM nut. I used 6point 34mm socket.

If stripped ill need a new cv shaft at least & maybe a hub right?

Also i been doing this with wheel on. Should i remove and slufe screwdriver in rotor? Or maybe chalk wheel?

Take the wheel off so you have enough room to work. What wheel do you have on there that allows you enough access to the nut?

I finally got it, bigger breaker bar and re torque to 108 ft lbs.

Next project is ball jpints and links. Have done nothing to rear all 23 years old.
Needs batt too i think, volt have been dropping below 14 volts driving.

Need all 4 tires really, want 235 to fill wheel wells better. Can i run 235 w 16in wheels.
Want gold honeycomb wheels from GP too maybe.

I wsnt to compression tezt and all that to see if motor and trams are worth to keep putting money in bonne.

Parts stores can load test batteries. Voltage between 13 and 14 may just mean the battery may be charged enough that the alternator isn't being used to charge the system right then.
