Post subject:  How to trick the lamp monitor?

Since installing my projectors, the lamp monitor keeps saying headlight out. Since the HIDs only take signal from some side. How can I trick the monitor into thinking there isn't a bulb out, without affecting the function of the lamp monitor otherwise? I took apart a 9006 bulb and soldered the filaments together, my logic being that the bulb had a resistance of 0 ohms, and plugged it into the empty socket on the left side, no change. Anyone have any suggestions??

The bulb does not have 0 resistance. Don't know what it is, though. Measure one and get a similar resistor.

Then the meter at work must be broken. Color me surprised.

I've just thought of something, I need the resistance measured of the ballast on the right side where it's taking signal from, and match that to put in as a fooler on the left. Because if I remember right the lamp monitor looks for the resistance of one side vs another to be the same before it trips. Because when we just had one side of the HID harness plugged in and the 9006 on the other, the monitor still came on. So that will be easy as pie then.

Photo-resistor circuit, which triggers a relay to 'open' circuit a resistor, completely separate the HID circuit from the lamp module. Just have to find a way to measure the resistance of the bulb while it's illuminated, so you keep the function?

You'll have to explain that in more detail Matt. I also remembered that I haven't yet installed the bi-xenon/high beam cancellation wiring harness thingy, so that will take up the plug on the left and possibly add resistance. But I don't think it will be enough to make the monitor play nice.
